Note: Plain steel (German: "blank") means the steel is untreated – no nickel plating or other surface finish, which usually makes this version a little more economical. The surface is protected only by oil. Keep the blades and shank lightly oiled and oil the joint regularly, otherwise humidity can cause tarnish or rust. The cutting edge itself is ground bare on every version. If you prefer a lower-maintenance surface, choose a nickel- or chrome-plated version.

The WASA Stitching Scissors 6" is strong C60 steel workshop scissors with short edges for stitching rooms and workshops. Version: plain steel, lacquered handles, straight.
WASA workshop and industrial scissors are sturdy special scissors for materials that defeat ordinary scissors: wire and staple wire, rubber, carpet pile, sacks, model board or technical textiles. Short, stable edges and long handles give plenty of leverage. Many models come in plain steel or nickel-plated, straight or curved, with lacquered or PVC-coated handles.
WASA stands for Waldmin & Saam: the scissor manufacturer was founded in Solingen in 1907 by August Waldmin and Friedrich Saam and is still known today for forged quality scissors – above all embroidery and needlework scissors.

Frequently asked questions
Which WASA workshop scissors suit which material?
Wire scissors for soft wire such as binding, florist or staple wire (spring steel needs side cutters), rubber scissors for rubber and foam rubber, carpet pile scissors for carpet pile, sack scissors for sacks and jute, model board scissors for board and templates, Kevlar universal scissors for technical textiles.
PVC-coated or lacquered?
PVC-coated handles give a better grip and are more comfortable for long work; lacquered handles are slimmer and classic.
What does "plain steel" (blank) mean for a WASA scissor?
It means untreated steel without nickel plating. The surface is only oiled, so blades, shank and joint should be lightly oiled regularly to prevent tarnish or rust. Nickel- or chrome-plated versions need less care.
