Description

Country of origin: European Union (Germany)

The Robuso left-hand tailor's shears 1040/C 8" are genuine left-hand shears of forged C60 steel with mirror-image blue-glazed blades and brilliant-red handles, 21 cm long – for natural-fibre, wool and furnishing fabrics.

Genuine ROBUSO left-hand scissors have mirror-image blades and handles. This lets the left-hander work upright with a clear view of the cutting line and guide the scissors loosely through the fabric. Anyone who has cut with right-hand scissors often unconsciously pushes the blades apart – allow some time to get used to it. The dressmaker's scissors 1012/E are the exception as a "semi-left" model that makes the switch easier.

Models 1040/C and 1041/C are forged from C60 carbon steel and blue-glazed; the 1041/C also has a micro-serrated edge and blue handles for technical textiles.

Frequently asked questions

What makes genuine left-hand scissors different?
Not only the handles but also the blades are mirror-image. The top blade is on the left, so left-handers can see the cutting line and the blades are pressed together instead of apart when squeezing.

The scissors jam at first – why?
Left-handers who have used right-hand scissors for a long time often apply sideways pressure unconsciously, so the scissors jam the fabric. Hold them loosely – after a short adjustment they cut easily.
