The HSGM cutting blade type HS-S is an original interchangeable blade for HSGM hot knives – application: cutting and edge-sealing heavier tarpaulins, sails and awning fabrics over larger areas, compatible with HSG-0, HSG-1-VW, HSG-03-VW, HSG-3-VW.
HSGM cutting blades are screwed into the clamps of the hot knife and heated directly via the transformer. Shape and cross-section determine what a blade is for: fine fabrics and thin cords, heavier fabrics, tarpaulins and sails, or ropes, hawsers and wide webbing. Not every blade fits every unit – the compatible units are listed with each item.

Note: The diameters and widths stated describe what the blade can cut – whether your unit has enough power for it is a separate question. The small HSG-0 hand unit (60 W), for example, has considerably less power than the continuous-duty units and may not manage thick ropes or wide webbing, even if the blade is designed for them. If in doubt, send us a short e-mail stating your unit and material; if necessary, send us a sample and we will test it beforehand.

Which blade fits my unit?
The compatible units are listed with each item under "Compatible with". If unsure, tell us your unit and material – HSGM also produces sample cuts and special sizes on request.
Can my unit handle thick ropes and wide webbing?
Besides the blade, this depends on the unit’s power: for thick ropes, hawsers and wide webbing the continuous-duty units – above all the 500 W HSG-3-VW – are better suited than the HSG-0 hand unit. If in doubt, e-mail us; on request we will test a sample of your material.
How do I look after the blade?
Change the blade only with the unit switched off and tighten the clamping screws firmly. Clean the still-warm blade with a brass brush.
Can I use blades from other makers?
HSGM recommends original blades only; using other makes voids the unit warranty.
