Prym bias bars are a sewing tool for making short bias binding strips up to 30.5 cm long, as needed above all for appliqué – for example the stem of a flower. Cut at 45 degrees to the grain of the fabric, the strip becomes flexible and can be laid neatly along curves.
The set contains five bars made of heat-resistant plastic, each 31.5 cm long, in widths of 3 mm, 4.5 mm, 6.5 mm, 9.5 mm and 12.5 mm. The fabric is wrapped around the bar of the required width, and the seam can be pressed while the bar is still inside. This makes it easy to shape and press narrow strips precisely.
