Prym buttonhole elastic is a versatile elastic tape with buttonholes already worked in. It is used to make adjustable trouser and skirt waistbands and is particularly suited to children's clothing and maternity wear, where the waist size needs to grow or adapt.
The tape is threaded into the casing and fastened with a button through the pre-set buttonholes, so the waistband width can be adjusted flexibly. Depending on the version it is a smooth or a knitted tape made of polyester and elastodiene. It is supple and soft, does not constrict, is washable at up to 60 °C and suitable for tumble drying.
