The Prym seam ripper, also known as a stitch ripper or unpicker, is the standard tool for opening seams in fabric. It is used in tailoring, alteration workshops and the textile industry as well as at home, and comes in two sizes and in bulk packs.
The sharp steel blade with ball point lifts the thread out of the fabric with ease, and the sturdy plastic handle stays comfortable during longer sessions. A plastic cap covers the blade safely; while you work, it fits onto the back end like the cap of a fountain pen, lengthening the handle.
