Prym tapestry needles with blunt point, also known as Smyrna needles, have a blunt, rounded tip and a large eye. The tip does not pierce the fibres but glides between the threads of the fabric. This makes them ideal for cross stitch, tapestry and canvas embroidery, for cushions, tablecloths and runners with counted patterns, and for embroidery with wool.
The needles are made of hardened steel and are completely burr-free; the symmetrically punched eye also takes thicker yarns and wool. A balanced ratio of length to thickness gives good flexibility in use. Also suitable for weaving in woollen yarn ends.
