The Prym cone and spool stand is used to unwind thread cones and large spools that are too tall to fit on the sewing machine. It stands next to the machine and keeps a steady supply of thread flowing during extensive sewing work – ideal for anyone who sews a lot, whether in a tailoring business, a studio or at home.
The stand is made of metal: a cast-iron base, a screw-in steel fixing rod and a boom arm that guides the thread to the machine. Large spools are often cone-shaped so that the thread unwinds cleanly even at high sewing speeds; the stand holds them securely and keeps the thread at an even tension.
