Description

Country of origin: European Union (Germany)

The Robuso proton® cutting shears 1026/S 9.5" are fully proton®-coated forged C60 scissors (approx. 3400 HV) with one micro-serrated edge, 25 cm long – slim special model with two pointed blades, an extra-large oblong eye and favourable pivot – high cutting force to the tip, for light aramid and Dyneema®.

ROBUSO proton® scissors are designed for cutting tough high-performance fibres such as aramid and Dyneema®. The forged C60 scissors are fully proton®-coated: the blue-black surface reaches a hardness of approx. 3400 Vickers (HV) at the cutting edges and effectively protects against abrasive wear. The coating reduces friction, so the scissors run lightly and smoothly, and because it is chemically inert, the surfaces stick far less than on uncoated scissors.

One edge is micro-serrated (both on the thread scissors) and stops the smooth, tough material from slipping. As handles and blades are coated rather than lacquered, the scissors are easy to clean with solvent. proton® scissors can also be resharpened.

Frequently asked questions

Why coated scissors for aramid?
Aramid and Dyneema® fibres are extremely tough and abrasive and quickly blunt normal edges. The super-hard proton® surface (approx. 3400 HV) protects the cutting edges from this wear, while the micro-serration holds the smooth fibres.

How do I clean the scissors?
Remove resin and adhesive residues with solvent, ideally right after work. Coated surfaces stick much less than uncoated ones.

Can I use the same scissors for glass fibre?
Yes, but a dedicated pair is recommended for aramid and Dyneema®: the edge is stressed differently than with glass and carbon fibre. This keeps it sharp much longer.
