The TEXTILIA cloth picker with comb K100 is a hand tool for cleaning fabrics in weaving and cloth inspection. Like all TEXTILIA cloth pickers, it has a smooth blade at the front that is squeezed together like tweezers, so loose threads, knots and protruding thread ends can be cut off right at the fabric surface.
The comb (the toothed side / comb blade) at the rear end of the K100 plastering/textile spatula serves to sort and comb out thread remnants. Using the teeth, individual threads, weaves, or matting are selectively combed out, exposed, or separated from the fabric surface without damaging the surrounding warp and weft threads. If the thread structure has shifted while removing flaws (e.g., with the flat blade of the tool or burling tweezers), the comb is used to realign the threads parallel and evenly, restoring the fabric structure. So-called lint, nubs, or foreign fibers are raised by combing through the fabric surface so that they can be cleanly cut off or pulled out in the next step using the tool's blade.
This version has an extra-wide picking edge of 42 mm with comb K100. The cloth picker is made of stainless steel and is available in lengths of 140 and 170 mm. Manufactured in Solingen, Germany, by TEXTILIA Stahlwaren-Manufaktur, which has specialised in tools for the textile industry since 1950.
