The WASA Embroidery Scissors 3.5" is fine embroidery scissors with pointed blades for precise cuts close to the fabric. Version: gold-plated. A historically faithful reproduction: the specially hardened black screws of the original are replaced today by blued screws, whose colour can range from bluish silver through steel grey to black.
Fine WASA embroidery scissors are small, light scissors with slender, pointed blades. They sit securely in the hand and snip threads close to the fabric without damaging it. Depending on the model they come with straight blades, an offset shank for working flat, or a knob at the tip.
WASA stands for Waldmin & Saam: the scissor manufacturer was founded in Solingen in 1907 by August Waldmin and Friedrich Saam and is still known today for forged quality scissors – above all embroidery and needlework scissors.

Frequently asked questions
What is an offset shank for?
The offset shank lifts the hand away from the fabric, so threads can be snipped flat and close to the material.
