The WASA Pinking Shears is pinking shears whose zigzag edge reduces fraying. Available in 6", 7.5", 8". Versions: nickel-plated.
WASA pinking shears cut fabric with a zigzag edge that greatly reduces fraying of raw edges. This lets you finish seam allowances without overlocking – and create decorative edges on fabric, felt and paper.
WASA stands for Waldmin & Saam: the scissor manufacturer was founded in Solingen in 1907 by August Waldmin and Friedrich Saam and is still known today for forged quality scissors – above all embroidery and needlework scissors.

Frequently asked questions
Do pinking shears replace edge finishing?
On many woven fabrics the zigzag edge greatly reduces fraying. For heavily used or frequently washed items an overlock or zigzag seam is still recommended.
