The WASA Tailor’s Shears 11" is chrome-plated tailor’s shears with black handles – easy care and corrosion-protected. Version: chrome-plated.
WASA tailor’s and cutting shears are the classic tools of the workroom: the bows are shaped so that the lower blade rests on the table while cutting and the fabric is hardly lifted. The result is exact cuts along the line. Long edges handle large cuts in a few strokes; many models are made of C60 carbon steel and can be resharpened again and again.
The range extends from classic standard-quality tailor’s shears through chrome-plated and French-style models to heavy cutting shears with a wide thumb rest. Plain-steel versions are the economical choice for professionals who look after their shears; nickel-plated, chrome-plated or lacquered versions need less care.
WASA stands for Waldmin & Saam: the scissor manufacturer was founded in Solingen in 1907 by August Waldmin and Friedrich Saam and is still known today for forged quality scissors – above all embroidery and needlework scissors.

Frequently asked questions
What does micro-serration mean?
A finely serrated edge holds smooth, slippery fabrics such as silk, lining or synthetics so they do not slide away while cutting.
What does "plain steel" (blank) mean for a WASA scissor?
It means untreated steel without nickel plating. The surface is only oiled, so blades, shank and joint should be lightly oiled regularly to prevent tarnish or rust. Nickel- or chrome-plated versions need less care.
