The Alpen 1306 sewing scissors are true left-handed scissors: the blades are arranged in mirror image. When cutting with the left hand, the natural hand movement presses the blades together rather than apart – so the cut stays clean and the cutting line remains clearly visible. In the Alpen catalogue they belong to the tailoring and textile scissors.
The hardened blades are made of nickel-plated carbon steel. Alpen manufactures the scissors in Premana, Lombardy, where Fratelli Gianola has been making scissors since 1964 – made in Italy with hand finishing. Like all Alpen scissors, they can be resharpened, for example via the SCHLEMMING sharpening service.
