The RTY-2/DX Deluxe rotary cutter combines an ergonomic, fatigue-reducing handle with a dual-action safety lock: the 45 mm blade is exposed only while the trigger is squeezed. Besides RB45 and RB45H it also takes the decorative PIB45 pinking and WAB45 wave blades and can be reassembled for left-handed use.
The Japanese manufacturer OLFA invented the rotary cutter in 1979 and changed the way fabric is cut. The 45 mm rotary blade is the most popular size: it cuts fabric, including several layers at once, as cleanly as paper, film or rubber sheet, along a ruler or freehand in curves.
The range covers the classic basic model, quick-change models with a flat body in several colors, a model with a split blade cover and the Deluxe version with an ergonomic handle and safety lock. All models suit right- and left-handed users and take RB45 and RB45H replacement blades – ideal for quilters, patchwork, sewing studios, tailors and upholstery workshops.
