The pressing anvil is a handmade edge block of solid steamed beech (approx. 38 cm long, 15 cm high) whose narrow edge presses out collar points, lapel corners and flaps.
Pressing blocks give edges, corners and collars a hard counter-surface on which seam allowances can be pressed cleanly flat. These solid shaped blocks are handmade from renewable, regionally sourced timber and complement tailor's hams wherever precise edges are needed.
