Hooks and eyes for jerkins in size 9 are fastenings for heavier outerwear such as jackets, jerkins and traditional costumes. Unlike buttons, they can be sewn in almost invisibly, so the fabric design and cut are not interrupted by a button placket. Prym supplies them as sets on a card and as separate hooks and eyes in boxes of 500 for series production.
The hooks and eyes are made of rust-protected iron (mild steel) with a silver-coloured or black coating. They are completely burr-free, which protects fabric and thread, and they open and close easily. Sew them on through the loops with firm stitches.
