Prym sharps are long standard needles for all common hand sewing tasks in tailoring, alterations and home sewing. They are about 7 mm longer than the corresponding medium-length needles and are preferred by many for their better grip. The higher the number, the thinner and shorter the needle.
Made of hardened, nickel-plated steel, the needles have a small, burr-free punched eye that leaves no holes in the fabric, a slim, finely tapered point and a smooth, non-porous surface. Balanced spring hardness prevents bending and breaking. For economic and ecological reasons the eye is no longer gold-plated – this has no effect on use.
