The OLFA XH-AL is the Auto-Lock version of the 25 mm X-Design utility knife: the blade locks automatically when the slider is released. Elastomer and glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene handle, acid- and acetone-resistant; preloaded with an ultra-sharp HBB Excel Black blade.
OLFA's extra heavy-duty utility knives use 25 mm wide, 0.7 mm thick snap-off blades. They handle thicker and tougher materials where an 18 mm blade reaches its limits and, according to OLFA, are designed for professional workplaces in trades, industry, warehouses and upholstery.
The large handles with anti-slip rubber or elastomer surfaces sit securely even in big hands. Depending on the model, the blade is held by a ratchet-wheel lock with continuous positioning or by Auto-Lock. Replacement blades are the HB (silver) and HBB (Excel Black) snap-off blades; with the separately available HSWB-1 saw blade, the knife can also be used as a saw.
