The Robuso MASTER ROBUSO tailor's shears 1020/DMR 8" are the top model of the forged ROBUSO tailor's shears: C60 steel, nickel-plated blades with gold etching and brilliant-red handles, 21 cm long.
ROBUSO tailor's shears are classic professional shears for tailoring, ateliers and garment production. Models 1020/C and MASTER ROBUSO 1020/DMR are forged from C60 carbon steel, hardened to approx. 59 HRC and set by hand: they cut with even force from the pivot to the tip, delicately through thin and thick fabrics alike. The 1020/C has blue-glazed blades; the MASTER ROBUSO is nickel-plated outside with a gold "MASTER ROBUSO" blade etching; both have brilliant-red powder-coated handles. The PELLORO tailor's shears 1020/HQ/C are the economy version with machine-ground blades and black lacquered handles.
Carbon steel is not stainless, but holds its edge considerably longer than stainless steel. The forged shears can be resharpened several times and then cut like new again.

Frequently asked questions
Which size is right?
Rule of thumb: the heavier the fabric, the larger the shears. 7" and 8" suit atelier and sewing work and smaller hands, 9" and 10" are the classic cutting sizes, 11" and 12" are for heavy fabrics and long cuts.
Does carbon-steel scissors rust?
C60 carbon steel is not stainless. Keep the inner faces of the blades clean and put a drop of oil on the screw now and then – the action stays smooth and the service life increases considerably.
Can the shears be resharpened?
Yes. Forged ROBUSO shears can be resharpened several times. Feel free to use our scissor sharpening service.
